OK this ones a pencil and conte crayon piece also originally 11 x17 page.
I'm a "Darkness " fan so I drew this up as my version of Jackie ! tell me what ya think ! and THANK YOU to all my friends in advance for the viewing !
Gawd, I love it! I love the realism in his face, and his eyes really give off the feeling that he IS the age he's sposta be in the comic (rather than generic big chin man). Weeee. My inner fangirl is very happy!
its truly a good pice of art,
but to be honest i should say that it dosent look quiet like him, please don´t be affended, and u have got some nice coments on it so i dont think i will upset u by saying this... but i must say i picture him (in my mind, and of course based on the comic books...) not like this at all...
any how its really well done, the "darklings" are in a way better then thoes of silvestri/turner but non the less they also feel wrong...and the hair and beard is not right..... well i opologise for my outspeaking way...but u said in the comment u wanted opinions on the pic (any how who am i to say this i never got him right in a pic myself...lol... )
well u got a good gallery and ure very talented! ceep up the good work!
I admire your openess and the comment alot ! it's kinda refreshing actually ! yeah if I thought of him in another light he would have to have more italian features.. not so much pretty boy features eh ?
don't worry I know some comic artists that they did the same, and the TopCow ppl don't give a shit about their talent, they are just a bunch of assholes, I guess the current TC artist they don't want to be replaced by new and young ppl, but meh...
If u want my opinion u just need to keep trying and never give up, cuz u are really really talented, and I admire u so much, so don't give up^^
Oh don't worry I hven't given up.. I've already done one project for IDW publishing.. and m currently working on 2 other projects at the moment..
Made some friends too in the industry s owe'll hopefully be able to work on a few things soon !
Thank you soo much for the support tho.. it really means alot !
*melts* !!!! wow I wanna be like you when I grow up.
I mean, having a job where u do what u like it's the best thing in the all fucking world!!! u are so lucky and also very professional,LOL I'm so fucking lazy men I can't finish anything v_v *sigh* I need to put my ass to work!!
how did you started? making some kind of portfolio or something???
Oh yep.. I made my self a portfolio.. seperated it into 2 or 3 sections.. one all for sequential comic-book art, another for just pin-up type stuff.. and one of a collection of other types of works..
I started going to Comic-book conventions ( the smaller conventions are easier and more fun to talk to professionals cause hey give you lots of time to chat an discuss stuff) talking to artists at the "Artist Alley" to get tips and pointers on my drawings on how to make them better, the portfolio reviews.
( you just have to have confidence cause they can sometimes be really blunt with artists that they don't think are good.. but if you sit and listen you can learn what your strong and weak points are in you drawings and work on it. )
Then,, I started looking for places on teh web that I would like to try to work for and Submit samples following thier submission guidelines..
I'm not as seasoned or even really considered a PRO in the business but I've had one or two really great gigs. I'm also currently working on 2 new projects..
But once you can start finding a steady stream of work it's great.. For artists like me.. the main thing that will keep ya going first is the love of the art.. and a passion /drive to make a goal or dream come true..
oh i'm makin this letter too long.. chat more some time !
thanks for sharing all this with me ^^.
Well in my case, I can't stop changing styles, all my draws are different, and, I like that I really do... but I dunno if it's good *shrug* I need to pile all my draws, sometimes I lost some. And I need to get a scanner
And... well I just like to ilustrate ... hmm I'm not reel in the "comic stuff" hmmm I mean the sequencial art... I guess, well... *sigh*
Hey ! how ya doin tonight ? Lol I wouldnt say my talent is without measure.. my teaches used to ALWAYS measure that.. LOL made me sick.. hhe I just prefer to be competent and imaginative thats all teh measure Irequire .. if i can keep that up .. I'm happy !
